Saturday 12th September

In the ‘Palm Court’ we have our Inaugural Address to kick off the day. Matthew McAllister will open followed by performances from Carlos Bonell and The Miyabi Duo, with Alexandra Whittingham completing our Day with an evening performance.

In the Conservatory, Luthier James Lister will be lecturing, after which we will conclude our Luthier’s competition. A Masterclass with Alexandra Whittingham follows. The masterclass is free, but spaces are limited. If you wish to take part in the masterclass, please email us @:

In the ‘Palm Court’ we have performances from our founder Mark Harris, followed by Rosie Bennett and Zoe Barnett. Laura Snowden headlines with an evening performance.

In the Conservatory, Steve Goss will be hosting a composition lecture/performance, after which we will conclude our Composers competition.

2026 FCGF Luthiers Competition

We invite the luthiers in the UK to build a classical guitar.

Submissions must be built in full by the entrant.(With the exception of tuners)

The Competition does not have an entrance fee. Saturday 12th is themed around Luthiery. Buy a ticket & make a day of it!

2026 FCGF Composers Competition

We invite the Composers of the UK to compose a piece for solo classical guitar.

Submissions must be composed in full by the entrant, be unpublished, in standard or drop D tuning on a 6 string classical guitar, and between 2 and 5 minutes long. Entrants may submit only 1 piece.

To enter, please record yourself or another guitarist playing the entered piece on a phone or similar. You may edit as appropriate — we are judging the piece, not your ability to navigate modern technology. You may submit video or audio. Entrants must also submit sheet music (not handwritten)in both standard Notation and TAB. All pieces entered will be compiled into a competition book that will be available for sale at the festival and online, the proceedes of which help fund the event.

By entering you agree to have your piece used by FCGF in our 2026 Compositional Competition Collection.

Winners (top 5) will be chosen by our panel of judges and will be contacted proir to the event.

Terms and Conditions

Felixstowe Classical Guitar Festival is owned by Felixstowe Guitar Conservatoire. 
If you buy or are given a ticket or take part in our competitions, you accept these terms and conditions. We cannot guarantee our acts. Our lineup acts are human beings and occasionally life throws them a curve ball. Last minute cancellations happen and we will do our best to replace those acts.
We offer no refunds once a ticket has been purchased.
Tickets are non-transferable. We have multiple events running concurrently and ticket numbers reflect this, seating is allocated on a first come, first served basis.
No entrance unless you have a valid ticket. Late arivals to performance will only ba admitted at an appropriate break.
Re Luthiers Competition. We will not be held responsible for damage incurred to an instrument prior to or during the course of the competition. Instruments must be collected by the end of the Festival.
All breakages must be paid for.
No recording unless given explicit permission
Anti-social behavour, causing disruption, putting property at risk or mistreatment of our staff or vendors will result in ejection.
No under 16s without supervision.
The festival organiser holds no liability for personal loss, theft, or injury.
No unauthorised trading. No Smoking/Vaping.
Only food and drink purchased at the event may be consumed at the event.
